Privacy Policy - RetakePrep

Last updated: August 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how RetakePrep (operated by New Chapter Institute LLC) collects, uses, and protects information when you use retakeprep.com (the "Site").

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form).
  • Study activity: quiz and practice attempts, diagnostic results, topic scores, and progress data.
  • Payment information: limited payment details from Stripe such as amount paid, last 4 digits of card, and status. Card numbers are processed by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and basic usage data to help keep the Site secure and reliable.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account and study progress.
  • To score your diagnostic by topic, build your study plan, and choose your drill and review questions.
  • To process purchases and provide customer support.
  • To send transactional emails and, only with your consent, study-related updates you opt into.
  • To keep the Site secure and improve how it works.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to run the Site (such as payment processing, email delivery, and hosting), under agreements that limit their use of it, or when required by law.

4. Students & Minors

Some test takers are under 18. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you are under 18, use the Site with the involvement of a parent or guardian; a parent or guardian may contact us to review or delete their student's information.

5. Data Retention

We keep account and study data while your account is active so your progress and error history remain available across a retake window. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data through the contact page.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices

  • Update account details from your account settings.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
  • Request a copy or deletion of your data via the contact page.

8. Changes & Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
